Fortior Global will implement EcoSys software for the University of Adelaide to manage its Capital Management Plan.
Fortior Global, an integrated project controls solution provider, will implement EcoSys (EPC Enterprise Planning and Controls) software for the University of Adelaide to manage its Capital Management Plan (CPM) and provide performance measurement for current capital projects.
The CPM directs capital improvement and maintenance projects across the University’s four campuses and has a budget of nearly AUS$100 million for 2011. Fortior Global has more than 20 years’ experience in designing, implementing and supporting highly effective integrated project controls. Fortior Global is an Australian solutions partner for EcoSys EPC software.
Fortior Global’s solution will improve the efficiency of capital allocation for current projects within the 5-year capital plan. Using EPC, the University will manage budgets and forecasts, revisions and changes, and realise a more timely and accurate view of project costs versus budget and income. EPC will track multiple sources of funding for projects, their allocations and remaining balances. The web-based system will also be used for trend analysis, auditing changes and performing Earned Value Management (EVM).
Previously, the University of Adelaide used Microsoft Excel to create its capital management plan. This was a cumbersome, labour-intensive process prone to data-entry errors. With enterprise-level workflow and process controls, EcoSys EPC will significantly lower the risks of data loss or corruption and single person dependency.
Fortior Global will integrate the solution with the University’s PeopleSoft general ledger and Oracle Primavera P6 project management software to create an automated platform for data analysis and reporting thus providing real-time visibility into project performance. This integrated approach will shift resources from data collection and collation to higher-value activities such as data analysis and forecasting.
Paul Butterworth, General Manager at Fortior Global said “This is another great example of an existing client realizing the benefits of eliminating the manual processing of data from different systems, and turning to Fortior Global to provide an integrated project controls solution that will improve the overall efficiency and accuracy for a major capital program of work.”
